WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
We travel to Priorat towards ESCALA DEI.
The Priorat region in the south of Catalonia is fantastic for wine tourism. For the landscapes of terraced vineyards, the bucolic villages such as Porrera and Gratallops and the sacred mountains of Montsant. It also has a historical jewel of high cultural value: Charterhouse ofScala Dei
This monumental complex is located in one of the most important natural areas of the Sierra de Montsant Natural Park.
To learn more about the way of life of the Carthusians and the transformations they introduced in the landscape, we will visit the charterhouse, a cell of a Carthusian father and a walk through the enclosure to get to know the surroundings. We will go to MAS de la PIEDAD, at the foot of the MONTSANT CLIFFS that captivate us with their majesty. This bucolic and leafy place surrounded by springs and ancient trees was the final resting place of 13 bishops of Tarragona
Following this walk, we will visit its Winery. This guided tour has it all: from an explanation of the history of Priorat and its wines, a visit to the winery with more than 4 centuries of history and a tasting of four great red wines with the Priorat quality denomination.
If this tasting has whetted your appetite, and you want to stay a little longer in this beautiful place, you can opt for the menu of the day in one of the two local restaurants.
